¹⁷ So he threw them all into jail for three days.

¹⁸ The third day Joseph said to them, “I am a God-fearing man and I’m going to give you an opportunity to prove yourselves. ¹⁹ I’m going to take a chance that you are honorable;^[a] only one of you shall remain in chains in jail, and the rest of you may go on home with grain for your families;
